I remember this sculpture as if it were yesterday.
With this sculpture, Damien pays homage to his sister. A strong, protective woman, the pillar of her family. The metal here takes on an unexpected form: soft, enveloping, almost alive. We see a protective silhouette, like a discreet shield, embracing without confining. A metaphor for motherhood, silent vigilance, and unconditional love.
"What I wanted to convey is the role played by so many women around us. My sister, through her strength and gentleness, inspired this work. She protects, she watches over, and this sculpture is a bit like her presence frozen in time."
